Vivanterre, Skin Contact Orange 2022

With Patrick Bouju and Justine Loiseau at the helm of the Vivanterre project, it’s no surprise these wines are delicious. Skin Contact Orange 2022 is a blend of négoce grapes from across France. Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc and Gewürztraminer from Alsace; and Grenache Gris and Ugni Blanc from Pinet near the Spanish border. The Gewürztraminer is solo-fermented, then aged in amphora and stainless steel. The Auxerrois and Pinot Blanc are co-fermented on the skins for three weeks, and the Southern varietals are co-fermented on the skins in fibre glass tanks for two weeks before all are blended. Light and fresh with perfectly balanced tropical notes of lychee and mango skin with a tannic structure reminiscent of black and oolong tea. Skin Contact Orange 2022 would pair well with Pad Krapow Gai.
