Vin de LaGamba, Frauenpower 2023

Hailing from Canada, Power-Frau Alanna LaGamba established her vineyard in Rheinhessen after harvesting with her now-partner Martin Wörner of the neighbouring Marto winery. Her German-style Lambrusco has become her signature, made from the somewhat unpopular grape, Dornfelder. The grapes are planted on limestone soils, surrounded by an assortment of crops which are managed with the help of the couple's numerous sheep. Despite the cherry cola nose, this is pulled into more serious territory by crunchy, salted red berry with robust tannins. Frauenpower 2023 would pair well with charcuterie and sunshine.
