Lorenzo Raffaglio, Tra Le Fiamme 2024
Originally a chef, Milan-born Lorenzo shaped his craft working in Jura with renowned winemakers such as Francois Rousset Martin. In 2019 he moved to Western Sicily to start his own project in Alcamo, with gorgeous sea-facing vineyards. Varying combinations of direct-press and macerations harness the aromatics in the local grapes varieties from 15-20 year-old vines. Tra Le Fiamme 2024 is 100% Cataratto and the first purely direct-press cuvée by Lorenzo - a pure reflection of the limestone-clay terroirs. This is precise and highly mineral with a pronounced yet elegant dryness we haven't seen in Lorenzo's winemaking until now. Green mountain herb aromatics on the nose and a subtle white blossom flavour profile. Tra Le Fiamme 2024 would pair well with caper x seafood linguine.
