Domaine Geschickt, Purberg 2021

Working biodynamically since 1998, this family-owned domaine has been run by Aurelie Fayolle and Arnaud Geschickt for the past 10 years. Found across 4 hectares in Ammerschwihr, the team work symbiotically with the environment, planting trees to increase ecological diversity and working the land with Iris, their mare. Purberg 2021 uses Gewürztraminer de-stemmed and macerated, Pinot Gris and Riesling direct pressed, then aged 12 months in Foudre. The result is a powerful maceration with a big body balanced with blood orange and yuzu with hints of nutmeg and paprika. Domaine Geschickt, Purberg 2021 would be a good match for confit de canard with creamed spinach.
