Domaine Geschickt, Purberg 2021

Domaine Geschickt is a wonderful place. This family owned domain has been working biodynamically since 1998 and for the last 10 years Aurelie Fayolle and Arnaud Geschickt have been at the helm. They use horses to work the land and have planted a number of trees to work harmoniously with nature. Purberg uses Gewürztraminer de-stemmed and macerated, Pinot Gris and Riesling direct pressed, then aged 12 months in Foudre. The result is a powerful maceration with a big body balanced with blood orange and yuzu with hints of nutmeg and paprika. Domaine Geschickt, Purberg 2021 would be a good match for confit de canard with creamed spinach.
