Domaine Geschickt, Phenix 2022

Working biodynamically since 1998, this family-owned domaine has been run by Aurelie Fayolle and Arnaud Geschickt for the past 10 years. Found across 4 hectares in Ammerschwihr, the team work symbiotically with the environment, planting trees to increase ecological diversity and working the land with Iris, their mare. This orange wine is pinot gris mixed with other estate-grown white varieties destemmed and macerated for 30 days before being aged in stainless steel. The resulting wine is a deep pink colour thanks to the pinot gris and tastes of nectaring, strawberry and orange zest balanced with tannins and a spicy finish. This one is a crowd favourite so get in before it's gone. Domaine Geschickt, Phenix 2022 would pair well with a tomato and burrata salad.
