Domaine Geschickt, Riesling 2024

Working biodynamically since 1998, this family-owned domaine has been run by Aurelie Fayolle and Arnaud Geschickt for the past 10 years. Found across 4 hectares in Ammerschwihr, the team work symbiotically with the environment, planting trees to increase ecological diversity and working the land with Iris, their mare. Riesling 2024 is made entirely of grapes from the clay-limestone Holderbaum plots, named after the old orchard trees which co-exist with the vines. Grapes are direct-pressed then aged in used demi-muid. A classic Alsatian Riesling, this would make for a perfect aperitif or bottle to be enjoyed throughout a meal. A little zippy with a good fresh acidity to complement the rounder yellow fruit notes. Riesling 2024 would pair well with a bitter leaf and walnut salad covered in comté.
