Domaine Geschickt, Pinot Noir Sonnenberg 2023
Working biodynamically since 1998, this family-owned domaine has been run by Aurelie Fayolle and Arnaud Geschickt for the past 10 years. Found across 4 hectares in Ammerschwihr, the team work symbiotically with the environment, planting trees to increase ecological diversity and working the land with Iris, their mare. Pinot Noir Sonnenberg 2023 is 100% Pinot Noir from granitic/sandy parts of the Kaefferkopf plots. The stems are left on for four-days of maceration before ageing in foudre. This is a super precise representation of Pinot Noir, with a deep, earthy nose and an electric palette complemented by a round sweetness of blueberry jam. Pinot Noir Sonnenberg 2023 would pair well with a rich mushroom ragu and creamy polenta.
