Domaine Geschickt, Pinot Noir 2024

Working biodynamically since 1998, this family-owned domaine has been run by Aurelie Fayolle and Arnaud Geschickt for the past 10 years. Found across 4 hectares in Ammerschwihr, the team work symbiotically with the environment, planting trees to increase ecological diversity and working the land with Iris, their mare. 100% Pinor Noir from flatter plots on clay-sand soils. The grapes are destemmed, then spend one week on the skins followed by one winter in foudre. A savoury nose reminiscent of dried shiitake mushroom, soy sauce and smoked wood follows elegantly through into the palette which is light, bright and juicy with umami undertones. Pinot Noir 2024 would pair well with aged steak and grilled peppers.
