Domaine Geschickt, Grand Cru Mambourg 2023

Working biodynamically since 1998, this family-owned domaine has been run by Aurelie Fayolle and Arnaud Geschickt for the past 10 years. Found across 4 hectares in Ammerschwihr, the team work symbiotically with the environment, planting trees to increase ecological diversity and working the land with Iris, their mare. Grand Cru Mambourg 2023 is 70% Gewürztraminer and 30% Riesling from clay-limestone plots found on the southern slopes of the vineyard. Direct-pressed with partial maceration before ageing for 12 months in used barrels. A tropical sweetness is pulled back by a combination of chalky tannins, fresh minerality and a highly elegant structure. Notes of citrus peel, grapefruit juice and lychee. Grand Cru Mambourg 2023 would pair well with Capesante alla veneziana.
