Ajola, Rosso del Poggio 2022

Jacopo Battista of Azienda Ajola works to maintain the seventy five year-old vines of his 3.5 hectare estate in Orvieto, which intersects the boundaries of Umbria, Lazio and Tuscany. His wines are beautiful representations of the volcanic terroir, which were laid during the formation of the Apennines, as well as the vineyards harmonious relationship with nature. 100% Sangiovese aged in chestnut barrels. Rich, round and full with grippy tannins and a beautiful depth. Rosso del Poggio 2022 would pair well with fatty charcuterie like saucisson and crusty bread.
