The pair founded Artesano Vintners in 2015 in Catalunya, starting out by renting shared winemaking spaces like \u003cspan\u003eViver de Celleristes. As of 2023, they've been based in Vila-seca, just south of Tarragona. Their wines seek to reflect the diverse terroir of the region, capturing a mosaic of soil-types and showing pure expressions of native grape varietals. Benjamina Pet-Nat 2023 is no exception, comprised of 70% \u003c\/span\u003eMacabeu, 20% Parellada and 10% Xarel.lo from a combination of limestone, clay and sandy soils. The Parellada is macerated on the skins for two days then blended with the other two grapes already undergoing fermentation in stainless steel. Chalky bubbles echo the calcium carbonate-rich soils of the vineyards and give the pet-nat a fine perlage and long mouthfeel. Aromatic and crisp with notes of fresh citrus, sea spray and pear drops.
